Who can apply
The upper age limit for every post is 28 years for unreserved candidates on 15 November 2026: you must have been born between 16 November 1998 and 15 November 2008, both dates included. The minimum age is 18. SC and ST candidates get 5 years of relaxation, OBC (non-creamy layer) 3 years and persons with benchmark disabilities 10 years, with further relaxation for ex-servicemen and some other groups as set out in the notice, up to an overall cap of 55 years.
You must hold the final mark sheet or certificate by 15 November 2026. Final-year and final-semester students cannot apply. If your university gives a CGPA or OGPA, convert it to a percentage in the form and keep the university's conversion certificate ready for document verification. For Assistant Manager (Finance), CA or CMA articleship does not count as experience.
OBC candidates need a non-creamy layer certificate based on income for 2023-24, 2024-25 and 2025-26, issued on or after 1 April 2026 and before 15 November 2026. EWS candidates need an income and asset certificate from an officer not below the rank of Tehsildar. Your category cannot be changed after you register.
Exam pattern
Every post has one online exam of 202 questions and 230 marks in three hours, with each test timed separately. It always includes a descriptive English test of two questions for 30 marks. The technical posts add a professional or subject knowledge test, which carries the most marks, so that is where agri and food graduates can pull ahead.
There is negative marking: 1/4 of the marks for a question is cut for each wrong answer, and a question left blank loses nothing. You need a minimum score in every section and in the total. The professional knowledge section and the descriptive test each need at least 40% for unreserved candidates and 35% for OBC, EWS, SC, ST, PwBD and ex-servicemen.

Syllabus for the technical posts
The Assistant Manager (Technical) syllabus is close to a B.Tech in agricultural or food engineering: engineering properties of produce, drying and moisture, cleaning, grading and handling, processing of cereals, pulses and oilseeds, and storage in godowns, silos and controlled-atmosphere stores; heat and mass transfer, refrigeration, cold storage, pasteurisation, sterilisation and water activity; food chemistry and quality; microbes in food grains, storage fungi and mycotoxins; stored grain pests, rodent control, IPM and fumigation; biotechnology in food preservation; and grain sampling, moisture testing, grading, storage losses and prophylactic treatment before and after the monsoon.
The Junior Executive (Technical) syllabus covers basic agriculture (crop production, animal husbandry, plant protection, extension, horticulture and agricultural economics), botany, zoology with a focus on insects, rodents, insecticides and storage hygiene, chemistry and physics. In short, revise warehouse work: grain pests and how to control them, fumigation, moisture and grading. Our free agriculture MCQ sets are a quick way to test the basics.
Selection, bond and posting
Assistant Managers are selected through the online exam, document verification and an interview of 30 marks. Up to five candidates per post are called (1:5), and the final merit list weighs the exam and the interview 85:15. The interview pass mark is 50% for unreserved and EWS, 45% for OBC and 40% for SC, ST, PwBD and ex-servicemen. Junior Executives are selected on the online exam and document verification only, with up to three candidates per post called (1:3); there is no interview.
Selected Assistant Managers sign a bond of ₹1,00,000 to serve CWC for at least two years, and Junior Executives a bond of ₹50,000 for two years. Every post is on probation at first. The cadre is all-India: you can be posted anywhere in India or abroad, and new joiners usually spend a fixed time at CWC field units such as warehouses before any office posting.
