Hiring in India, answered.
- How can a foreign agri company hire in India?
- Most companies either hire onto their own Indian subsidiary or branch, or, before they have an entity, through an employer-of-record (EOR) provider that employs the person on their behalf. AgriHires finds, screens and closes the candidates in both cases; the employment contract sits with your Indian entity or your EOR.
- What does it cost to hire through AgriHires?
- AgriHires charges 8% to 13.5% of the candidate's annual CTC, depending on the profile, and quotes it before the search starts. Every placement carries a free replacement if the hire leaves within 60 days. Candidates never pay.
- How long does it take to hire a country manager in India?
- Leadership searches deliver a first shortlist in about 14 days and most close in 90–120 days, including the notice period. Senior people in India commonly serve 60 to 90 days' notice, so plan the start date around it.
- What notice periods should we expect in India?
- Commonly 30 days for field staff and junior roles, and 60 to 90 days for managers and leaders. Some employers buy out part of the notice period; we negotiate the joining date as part of the offer.
- Can you hire people who speak the local language of each state?
- Yes. We screen every field candidate for spoken local language and their dealer and farmer network in the district, and can deliver teams grouped by state and language, for example Marathi, Telugu, Kannada, Tamil, Hindi or Bengali speaking.
- Do you hire outside India too?
- Yes, for Indian and global agri and food companies in emerging markets in South and South-East Asia, the Gulf and Africa, usually Indian professionals moving abroad. See our agricultural recruitment agency page for the full service.
- Is the information on employment law here legal advice?
- No. It is general information to help you plan. Rules on contracts, provident fund, gratuity, state shops and establishments registration and data protection depend on your structure and state; check them with your Indian legal counsel or EOR provider.
