About the role

A commercial polyhouse farm at Niwai (Tonk, Rajasthan) needs agronomists to look after 16 polyhouses growing cucumber in soil. The role is hands-on: daily rounds of every house, fertigation, nutrition and crop protection, a small team, and daily reporting to the CEO. The selected person lives in the house provided on the farm.

What you'll do

• Take full technical and day-to-day charge of 16 polyhouses (about 20 acres) growing cucumber in soil.
• Inspect every polyhouse in person daily: crop health, growth, flowering, fruit set, yield and quality.
• Run irrigation, fertigation, soil nutrition, EC/pH, and pest and disease control independently.
• Spot crop problems early and put corrective measures in place on time.
• Prepare daily, weekly and crop-cycle work schedules; supervise and train two agricultural assistants and farm workers.
• Keep daily records of crop condition, irrigation, fertiliser, sprays and production; send a daily report to the CEO and attend review meetings.
• Own production planning, yield, quality standards and overall technical farm management.

Who should apply

• 2–3 years of hands-on experience in commercial polyhouse cultivation
• Proven expertise in soil-based cucumber under protected cultivation
• Has worked on commercial polyhouses with a farm team
• Strong in fertigation, irrigation, soil management, crop nutrition and pest/disease management
• Must live in the house provided inside the farm and work full time for this farm only
• Qualification: B.Sc. or M.Sc. (preferred) in Agriculture, Horticulture or a related field
