Project Associate I (PAT-I) – Rice Research Project

About the role

ICAR-Indian Institute of Rice Research (ICAR-IIRR, formerly the Directorate of Rice Research), Rajendranagar, Hyderabad, invites applications under its CSIR-sponsored FTT/FTC project “Development of climate resilient and high yielding trait improved varieties of Swarna; a mega rice variety of India” (notification F. No. CSIR-FTT/2026/1, dated 15 October 2026). Four posts of Project Associate I. ₹31,000 + HRA for NET / GATE (or equivalent national exam) qualified candidates, ₹25,000 + HRA for others. The post is temporary, for one year at first, and may be extended on performance and the availability of funds. Short-listed candidates are interviewed online; the date and time come by email. What you'll do

• Project work in “Development of climate resilient and high yielding trait improved varieties of Swarna; a mega rice variety of India”.
• Data entry and computer work for the project.
• Handling seeds, seed registers and godowns, and other seed-related work.

Who should apply

• Master's / Integrated Master's in Natural or Agricultural Sciences, or Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Technology, from a recognised university (or an equivalent qualification recognised for the project's needs).
• Desirable: experience in data entry and computer work; knowledge of handling seeds, seed registers, godowns and seed-related work; any additional qualification relevant to the project.
• Maximum age 35 years.
• No Objection Certificate from your present employer if you are working.
• Age relaxation: 5 years SC/ST, 3 years OBC, 10 years PH, as per CSIR / Government of India rules.
